Safely to our new home

Well, it was a long day but we did it. We woke up at 3.45am on Monday morning, and finally went to bed in our village of Vaitogi in American Samoa at 5.30am our time on Tuesday morning. The kids did really well on the flights for the most part, especially considering there was a lot of unnecessary stress for them caused by travel agents and airlines workers who thought it would be ok that all 7 of us sat completely seperately from each other. I will write more details about the journey in another post, just wanted to make sure I checked in to let you know that we were here safely. As for the house…last night we were greeted by ants, spiders, 4 inch cockroaches, and two geckos. This is going to be an adjustment. Can’t wait for morning to arrive so that we can see outside the windows, it’s been dark since we arrived and we haven’t seen the beauty of the island yet.

  1. Well done, Helen and all! We are pleased to hear that you have arrived safely. We look forward to your next post. They are SOOOO interesting! Love, Pam and Brian.

  2. Congratulations! So glad you made it alright. What’s up with splitting up the 7 of you on your flight…ridiculous. Looks like you won’t have to be buying any pets while in American Samoa- they come free with the house. Sweet! Hope you all get some sleep finally. Love ya!

  3. Helen, so glad you made it despite the bugs!
