Escaped convict and mean old lady

Do you like the title of this post? Let me explain…last night when the kids were finally in bed, Michael and I collapsed in exhaustion on the couch just like every other hot tropical night on this island.

There really isn’t much to do here, and on nights when we’re REALLY tired, we’ll turn on the TV, flip through all of the channels, disgusted at everything we find, then settle on some nature show or historical documentary, and then fall asleep.

On nights when we’re feeling more productive, we go to our separate computers and work on school stuff, church stuff or blogs!

There isn’t much that we do TOGETHER, and it’s sad. Last night, I was determined that we would spend some time together, not go to the computers, and not turn on the TV. Hmmm, what to do? Michael doesn’t like games so we couldn’t do that. I guess we could have done more housework but we were just so tired.

Finally, Michael came up with the master plan. We each had 15 minutes to draw the other person’s portrait. It was so random that I agreed, and giggling all the way, we started our short activity. We only had scratch paper to use, and so the words are showing through from the other side. We are only amateurs after all.

We obviously have very different talents, “styles”, and abilities. Check out our work…if you stare at the pictures long enough, I’m convinced you’ll see us in them! I wasn’t very happy at being portrayed as a mean old lady, and Michael wasn’t happy that he looks like an escaped convict. What does this say about how our spouse is viewing us? Enjoy the exhibit.

  1. Hahah. U both can draw well
    Michael has evil eyes haha

  2. I thought the first one was Michael until I scrolled down. Hmm. Neither of you are particularly “sketch-a-genic”. Good thing you’re both so beautiful in person!

  3. Very entertaining! What a fun idea.

  4. Haa!!!! That is funny! The drawings are good, but the descriptions are funny! Miles and I should do this- neither of us can draw so it would be very sad!

  5. haha! are you sure this was a good idea? pretty funny! you are talented!

  6. If Dave and I did that, we would have drawn stick figures. You guys are much more talented.

  7. I see Mrs. Doubtfire and Mr. Spock. 🙂

  8. That’s too funny! Quite well drawn. . .in only 15 minutes. What a fun idea!
