Birthday girl date

Yesterday was Hannah’s 7th birthday. It was our annual deep cleaning of the church that evening, so we decided that Michael would take the other kids to clean, and I would take Hannah and her friend out on a girl date. It was so much fun! First we all had pizza at home for dinner, then we went into Hannah’s room and I taught them how to make friendship bracelets. I was a bit rusty not having made them for 20 years or so, but they loved them, and thought I was the coolest Mom ever!

Hannah really wanted sparkling milk (yes, you read that right) so we drove 15 minutes to the store to get them. They were out of strawberry flavor, so both girls opted for melon flavor. After that, it was supposed to be a stop for ice cream, but the place was closed, and our only option was MacDonald’s. The girls were troopers and were happy enough with eating their ice cream cones in the trunk!

Then it was back home for painting nails and watching Tinkerbell. Both girls stayed up past their bedtimes and felt very privileged. Hannah said that it was the best day of her life! Love the bonding opportunities!

  1. Looks like a really fun day! It’s hard to believe she and Scotty are 7!!

    (Sparkling milk sounds disgusting!!!)

  2. I love the picture of you painting all the girls’ nails 🙂 Very sweet. You’re a good mama.

(Also, how in the world does “McDonald’s” translate into “fa’afetai”??)

    • Ha! Ha! Fa’afetai means thank you. That was the sign as we left the drive thru!!!!!

  3. Fun date . . . I don’t think friendship bracelets would come back to me without some good research! They turned out cute! Happy Birthday Hannah!
